The Cycling Challenge of a Lifetime - Vietnam to Cambodia February 2011
Co-operation Ireland has just announced its latest and most exciting overseas cycling challenge. Between 4-13 February 2011, participations who undertake this challenge of a lifetime will cycle 450 km over 5 days between two of South East Asia’s most fascinating countries, Vietnam and Cambodia. The journey will start in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and finish at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. This event is limited to 25 cyclists only.
Coperation Ireland teams up with Morgan Stanley to offer Ground Breaking Youth Initiative
Global Investment Bank Morgan Stanley joined up with Co-operation Ireland to give a group of young people from Belfast, Dublin and London an opportunity to participate in a unique programme of events, with potentially life changing results.
This week (5&6 July) the bank flew six young people from Belfast and Dublin to their head offices in London’s Canary Wharf where they were joined by seven London students. For two days the group learned not only about the financial services industry, but also a range other career opportunities, networking and personal development skills.
‘Wasted’ Film Première
On Friday, 25 June 2010, the first ever screening of the short film ‘Wasted’ took place at the Odeon Cinema, Victoria Square, Belfast.
Written and directed by a group of young people from the Kilwilkie Estate, North Lurgan, the short drama revolves around local boy Shae, on cup-final day.
Filmed with the support of Cinemagic, the film focuses on life within the estate for Shae and other teenagers living there.
Fine Gael Leader Visits Co-operation Ireland
This morning (21 June 2010) Fine Gael Leader Enda Kenny made a welcome visit to Co-operation Ireland’s Belfast office.
The leader accompanied by five other party members, all of whom have an interest in Northern Ireland. They included TDs Seymour Crawford, Fergus O'Dowd, Joe McHugh and Brian Hayes and the Munster MEP Sean Kelly.
Me Kenny’s party stayed for approximately an hour, talking to staff about the work of Co-operation Ireland.

The challenge takes us through two of South East Asia’s most fascinating countries, which have only opened up to foreign travellers in recent years. Starting in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and finishing at Angkor Wat in Cambodia, we’ll experience breathtaking scenery, timeless traditions, ancient temples and the warmth of the local people.
